Athletics Ballarat Announces Inaugural Executive Officer Position

New leadership role to drive growth as regional athletics hub nears completion at Howitt Street

BALLARAT, VIC  22.7.2026 – Athletics Ballarat is entering an exciting new era. With construction of its brand-new athletics facility nearing completion and participation in the sport continuing to grow across the region, Athletics Ballarat is proud to announce the creation of its inaugural Executive Officer position.

This newly established leadership role marks an important milestone in the organisation’s evolution. As a volunteer-led body with a rich history and a strong vision for the future, Athletics Ballarat recognises that continued growth requires dedicated professional leadership to support its Board, strengthen community connections, attract major events, expand participation opportunities, and ensure the long-term success of athletics throughout the region.

The Executive Officer will work closely with the Board, member clubs, coaches, schools, local government, sponsors and community partners to lead strategic initiatives, oversee facility operations, grow participation, develop new programs, and maximise the opportunities presented by one of regional Victoria’s newest sporting facilities.
