1500m Walk – Being the first event of the morning we saw Jemma Peart (BYC) kick off the round with a 7:17.64, scoring herself 408 points. She won this race quite significantly.
Hurdles – Eureka’s Asha Meek had the best performance in the hurdles with a 14.48 in the 90m hurdles beating Kiana Jenkins (BHA) to score 434 points.
1500m – In the men’s Eureka showed their dominance in holding 1st, 2nd and 3rd spots. Charles Chandler (EKA) won in 4:09.65, Jordan Mayston (EKA) in 2nd and Ben Mornane in 3rd. However the highest point scorer was Mitchell Korosec (WEN) scoring 396 points with a time of 4:21.39. In the women’s Amy Canavan (EKA) finished first overall with a time of 4:53.83 where she scored 390 points. Heat 2 winner Olivia McConchie (EKA) scored the most points of 393.
100m – One of the best days for athletes in Ballarat for conditions, however most personal bests or records potentially broken would not have been legal due to the wind reading. In the men’s Cooper Sherman ran unfortunately an illegal 10.40 with a +2.5 wind where it it had been legal it would have been a record. Honorary Ballarat member Ryan Hovey (GHY) was in second place running 10.60. In the female’s we saw a great race between Ballarat athletes. Grace Kelly (BHA) took out first place with a time of 11.80, Armani Anderson (BHA) took second with 12.00 and Mackenzie Estlick took third with 12.21. Unfortunately the wind was not legal for this race either. Like the men’s this would have been a Ballarat record if it was legal.
400m – The fastest time in the men’s came from Oakley Burge (BHA) running a time of 55.15. Our best athlete in the 400 was James Pendred (BHA) who ran a time of 55.85 scoring 378 points. The wind was very strong in the 400s, but it was no match for Nyajima Jock (WEN) who ran a time of 55.57 to break the open record that’s been held for over 30 years. The 400m is looking stronger than ever in recent years. Shakira Lual (BHA) ran ever so consistently, running a 60.07 scoring 488 points. This was also however another record! Shakira broke the under 14 from 1986. She also broke the under 15 record which was the same as the under 14 one. The time of 60.07 edges out the previous record from Peta White (EKA) who held it with a time of 60.6 seconds. Congratulations!!!

Javelin – No intro needed for the usual suspect Jace Murray (WEN) who was the lead thrower. He threw 50.41m to score 364 points. As always Kim Gleeson (BYC) was the best female point scorer, throwing 28.82m to score 332 points.
Pole Vault – Conrad Oberholzer (BHA) jumped the highest at 2.65m where Summer Jenkins (BHA) scored the highest amount of points with a jump of 2.49m scoring 340 points.
Shot Put – The same as the Javelin, Jace and Kim were the highest point scorers in the shot put. Jace threw 12.35m scoring 325 and Kim threw 9.33m to score 360
Triple Jump – Kynan Stasinowsky (EKA) had the biggest jump of the men with a jump of 12.76m. He scored 385 points from this. In the women’s Mackalya Culvenor had the greatest jump with a leap of 10.77m scoring 417 points
