1500m – Starting off the day for track athletics was the 1500m, where Charlie Chandler (EKA) finished first place being the only person on the day to go sub 4 minutes in a time of 3:59.56 scoring his club 430 points. In the females the young’un Lucy Jones (EKA) only just finished second place in a time of 4:42.07 scoring herself 434 points. Along side this Paige Tuddenham (BYC) ran an extremely impressive time of 4:47.88. The reason for this is because it is actually an under 14 record that was broken by nearly 6 seconds. Up until now this was held by Lucy Jones (EKA) in a time of 4:53.48. This result from Paige scored herself a big 459 for her club, where she finds herself one of the Ballarat MVPs for this week.

100m – Cooper Sherman (BHA) opened his season with a time of 10.64 scoring the Ballarat Harriers 457 points. In some of the most unpredictable windy conditions Armani Anderson (BHA) ran 12.23 into a slight headwind to score 463 points for herself.

Steeplechase – In the 2000m steeplechase we saw Riley Shillito (BYC) score himself 429 points, running a time of 6:26.83, inching himself closer to Zac Grainger’s (WEN) record who had him on the edge of his seat.

Hurdles – First off worth mentioning and obviously no surprise we see Julie Pendred (BHA) breaking another one of her own records this time in the 80m hurdles. She lowered her time from 20.96 to 20.62 once again, breaking her own record. Well-Done Julie, the number of records you will break this season will be record breaking (duh). We also saw Jace Murray (WEN) also score himself a handy number of points (369) running a time of 16.66 with a big headwind in the 110m hurdles.

400m – The biggest event of the day in terms of numbers. Lots of great performances in heats where Hudson Downes (WEN) ran in style to finish in 48.29 scoring a massive 482 points. In the women’s there was a battle between Chloe Kinnersly (BHA) and Halle Martin (BHA). Chloe (59.74) just edged out Halle (60.07). Of course, Shakira Lual (BHA) ran an impressive 60.77 to score herself 480 points.
